Understanding Your Relationship with the 6 Senses

Your senses are tools and gifts we use to navigate the physical world. Once one becomes aware and remembers that we are more than the physical, and recognize that these are the main senses we use to survive and enjoy physical life; this then presents an opportunity for one to take a look at the relationship with these physical sensations, and the role it plays in ones experience.

Why is it important to look at your senses? When you are able to unfold patterns and belief systems that are tied into your sensations with the sense of self, this allows you to be able to understand what is at your core. If someone is interested in expanding their understanding of who they are, taking a look at this dynamic within ones self can provide great insight. Especially if a person is wanting to become aware of their mental programs. This is a great place to start that journey of remembrance.

There are other senses beyond the physical, but it is helpful in the long-run to take a look at the foundational belief system holding the consciousness. We can explore and expand on the other “senses” such as clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, clairalience, clairgustance, claircognizance after we first tackle the basics and their role within each of our lives.

So, what are our physical senses? The main six physical senses of the body are known as vision, hearing, taste, smell, touch, and proprioception. As stated before, these are the senses we use to navigate the physical world. There are multiple dynamics in which we can break down to fully comprehend the role within these sensations and how they are playing out in our reality. This is a re-learning experience that takes diligence, courage, and observation to achieve. Remember to hold yourself in a space of love, compassion, and grace.

Love: an emotional and mental state of affection
Compassion: Sympathetic consciousness of distress together with desire to alleviate it
Grace: Simple elegance or refinement of movement

Take on and break down bits at a time. The recipe will be different for each soul and you will have to determine when it is too much or when to pick up the pace. Use discernment and sit in your heart space to feel the alignment within you. Others may also come across your path and provide great insight, but always check back within consistently and feel if it resonates as truth.

To begin the journey of reconnecting the correlation between the self and the senses (recognizing what is) I recommend asking yourself a few questions. One question might be, “How am I supporting my senses on a metaphysical level?” or, “Am I allowing the desire to fulfill sensations override the will of the innermost Being?”. You can also begin by picking one particular sense and focus on that for a week. Journal and mediate on that one sense and play with the process. We are here in this dimension to enjoy being in the physical form. Do your best to not suppress yourself, but know when you are allowing the ego to step forward instead of the highest aspect of the soul.

What about the non-physical senses?

Once you have comprehended these aspects within the self, have a deeper gnosis on what is and what is always becoming, and as you pull away the layers of resistance these other non-physical senses will naturally arise. Find which of these non-physical senses has the least resistance within you and practice that ability on a daily basis.

Each human has the ability to tap into all of these “spiritual gifts”. They are all our birth right to access, but it also takes the deep work within to be able to allow yourself to utilize them properly. It doesn’t all happen at once for most people, this takes consistent work, and you have to keep showing up for yourself. Divinity is intelligent and will present tasks and tests which are tied into your Karma.

As you progress through the development of these “spiritual abilities”, growth spurts will occur which can feel like a compression then release. The rate at which you progress through these “levels” depends on how much resistance you may have during this growth process. Tests are presented to you repeatedly if this is needed.

Take it all in with love and gratitude to all, and this will ease the process.
